MA/SR scrapper? Empty MA/SR scrapper?

Hi, I am new to this forum. What would you recommend for a Martial Arts/Super Reflexes scrapper? I have an idea what powers I think I would like. Here is an idea of what I would like & please, if someone would give me advice on how to build on it, how many slots, what sets to put in, & did I pick a good set of powers, or are there some that I should not take & others I should that I didn't in this? Being that I am not yet allowed to post links here for a while, here is my list of powers I would like:

MARTIAL ARTS:
Storm Kick
Cobra Strike
Focus Chi
Crippling Axe Kick
Dragon's Tail
Eagle's Claw

SUPER REFLEXES:
Focused Fighting
Focused Senses
Agile
Practiced Brawler
Dodge
Quickness
Lucky
Evasion

LEAPING:
(If I buy the Ninja Run from the Market, is it ok to omit combat jump & take jump kick instead? Or should I just go w/ combat jump & not jump kick?)

FLIGHT:
Fly

SPEED:
Super Speed
Hasten

FIGHTING:
Boxing
Tough
Weave

MACE MASTERY:
Mace Blast (OR should I take Mace Beam?)

This is just a quick initial reply...

Not sure what is going on with the inability to post links. I'll look into that but honestly, I'm pretty clueless with how everything works for the forums.

I'm just going to give a quick response to your post because it is pretty late and my brain is a little bit mush, so here we go...

First up, do you have Mids already? I know most people do but if you don't definitely download it. It's what we use to generate builds.

Secondly, are you just looking for basic slotting for the build or are you looking for an IO'd build? If it is an IO'd build we'll need a price range that you feel comfortable working with. We are in the habit of making those really absurd high-cost builds that make people's brains hurt.

As far as your power picks for ma/sr, I need to sit down real quick with mids and go over all the names. It's two sets I don't play enough to speak of off the top of my head.

When it comes to power pool picks, I did have a few thoughts...

1. CJ is definitely the better pick. Jumpkick (while pretty cool looking) isn't really effective enough to justify a power pick imo.

2. I noticed you had planned on going for 3 different travel pools. I would really suggest limiting that. Hasten + SS is good and even taking CJ/SJ along with that is fine, but having flight in addition to that is really overkill. If you are concerned about vertical movement, I would just buy/earn a flight pack. In addition to this, as /sr you have Quickness...with slotting that means you can skip Super Speed and Super Jump.

3. Squeezing in fighting pool is definitely a good thing.

I would like to know how to IO set this build, as well as how many slots to put & where. As far as why I picked flight, I do that for all my toons in place of super jump, as I feel I've more control over the fly & fly to me can get me where I need to go more effectively than super jump. I would take a jet pack as a back up, but then I stress over running out of time w/ those. Oh & I DO want something that is cost effective, not too expensive, because as it is, it is like pulling teeth for me to get inf in the game! & w/ the nerfing that they are going to be doing, it will be even worse. So no pvp builds, no "purples", no nothin' like that, I just want io's that are effective, and that don't cost an arm & a leg, please, thanks.

I'm going to here in the next few days post a lil basic guide to IOing, franken slotting, and what you should be looking for in most IO builds. It should help with anyone trying to create their own character builds, and even some guidance for Incarnate powers. In the meantime however I'll try to get vae to either send me his MA/SR build he just did for someone in the channel, or to post it himself here.

In the meantime, here's a Data Chunk for an StJ/SR/Energy Scrapper I just helped build in the channel. It has soft cap defenses and solid +Rech. It's a bit under a billion influence, which seems like quite a bit, but once you hit 50 and begin to Incarnate your character and doing TFs/Trials you'll make that much money faster than you expect.

Its more of a template you can reference against. StJ isnt all that different from martial arts, and so you can swap the primary with Martial Arts and get the same kind of build with minor tweaking (Spinning Strike is a TAoE while Dragons Tail is a PBAoE so you can alt the slotting there)
